Do companies know how to protect themselves against cyber-attacks?

Are companies prepared in terms of cybersecurity? What measures should they take to prevent or protect themselves from a cyberattack? The answer, at the International Cybersecurity Radar, CSI Radar, from June 12 to 16 in Seville.

IBM will be one of the companies providing answers to these questions. The company will be represented in Seville by Isabel Tristán, IBM’s Director of Security Software Sales, who will talk about the digital reinvention of companies as cybersecurity has to go at the speed of business.

“Today’s business landscape continues to be defined by change and uncertainty. Leading companies are using technology to create competitive advantage and thrive in the face of challenges such as inflation, supply chain disruption, tight labor markets, sustainability requirements and cybersecurity threats,” explains Tristan.

Isabel Tristán has developed her professional career for more than 10 years at IBM, holding various positions in the areas of Business Continuity, Analytics and, finally, in Information Security since the creation of the IBM Security unit in 2012.

Have we made progress in cybersecurity?

This is the question that Sergio de los Santos, Head of Innovation and Laboratory at Telefónica Tech, will answer at CSI Radar. De los Santos will give “an optimistic view on cybersecurity” by answering: Is it possible that today we have an optimistic view on cybersecurity? and What have we advanced and where have we fallen behind? He will give the answers in CSI Radar.

Sergio de los Santos has been awarded from 2013 to 2018 with the Microsoft MVP Consumer Security award and teaches the master’s degree in ICT security at the University of Seville. He also directs the cybersecurity master’s degree and the malware reversing master’s degree at UCAM. He has participated in international conferences such as DEFCON’26 in Las Vegas and Black Hat in London with his own research.

De los Santos thus joins, on the Telefónica Tech side, the already confirmed María Jesús Almazor, CEO of Cybersecurity and Cloud. The Spanish company’s executive will talk about how to build a resilient business. Cybersecurity in the business environment is facing new paradigms such as Zero Trust, the disappearance of the security perimeter and cloud security. “It is essential that companies, regardless of their size, can develop their business in a cyber-resilient way, through an appropriate cybersecurity strategy and accompanied by the best technology partners,” says Almazor.

‘CSI Radar’ (Cyber Security International Radar) was created with the aim of giving visibility to all the leading companies and multinationals, as well as universities, institutions, manufacturers and experts who are working to improve cybersecurity in companies and public administrations in Spain and around the world.
