‘CSI Radar’ starts tomorrow its first edition in Seville

  • María Jesús Almazor, CEO of Cybersecurity and Cloud at Telefónica Tech will be the keynote speaker.
  • Thirty-four percent of the event’s speakers are women and CSI Radar crosses borders with a large representation from Latin America.
  • Multinationals from the United States such as IBM, Proofpoint and AWS, and from China such as Huawei and ZTE will also be featured.

Tomorrow, Monday, June 12, ‘CSI Radar 23’ kicks off with a keynote speech by María Jesús Almazor, CEO of Cybersecurity and Cloud at Telefónica Tech, and two face-to-face sessions at the Seville Conference and Exhibition Center (FIBES), and three virtual sessions.

This first edition of the International Cybersecurity Radar has achieved an agenda with top-level speakers, 34% women, who will share the most outstanding challenges of cybersecurity at international level: Do companies know how to protect themselves? Who are the most vulnerable to a cyberattack? Why is 5G and European regulation key? How is work being done to curb economic cybercrime? Are our devices and connected cars safe?  The answers, in CSI Radar.

Major challenges for US and Chinese multinationals.

Many multinationals will gather at FIBES to talk about a sector as important as cybersecurity. From the United States, three large companies such as IBM, Proofpoint and AWS will be in Seville.

On behalf of IBM, Isabel Tristán, Director of Security Software Sales, will talk about the current business landscape in the cybersecurity sector. On behalf of Proofpoint, Pedro Álamo, Public Administration Sales Director, will speak about email as the main vector to protect in organizations. AWS will also be present at the first edition of CSI Radar. Jesús Rodríguez, Cyber Security Sales Specialist at AWS Iberia, will speak about the importance of security in the cloud. Together with him, in a joint panel, Atos will participate through Eviden, with Arancha Jiménez Martínez, Head of Cybersecurity, Services and Products.

Huawei and ZTE, two of the large Chinese multinationals, will also be protagonists in this first edition. José Capote, Cyber Security and Privacy Officer (CSPO) of Huawei, will talk about the importance of cybersecurity management in 5G technology to ensure its successful development and adoption. Antonio Relvas, Director Cyber Security Strategy at ZTE, will talk about the impact of current and future EU regulations on telecom operators.

Women and Latin America, very present at CSI Radar

CSI Radar, in its first edition, will be an event led by women: 34% of the speakers are female. Many of them represent Latin American countries: Dominican Republic, Brazil, Mexico, Puerto Rico and Colombia. In addition to the aforementioned María Jesús Almazor from Telefónica Tech, Isabel Tristán from IBM and Arancha Jiménez from Eviden, more women leaders in the cybersecurity sector are also joining CSI Radar.

The National Police will have female representation through Lucía López, Inspector of the Technological Crimes Group, who will talk about the actions followed by the National Police in the fight against cybercrime. The Civil Guard will also have Rosalía Machín, Captain of the Civil Guard, Ministry of the Interior, who will talk about Cybersecurity and Artificial Intelligence.

Other experts will be Marta Valcarce, Senior Prosecutor for Minors in Seville, who will address the most relevant cybercrimes that are occurring among minors today; Eva Álvarez del Manzano, Head of Special Projects at Edefa Group, will be another of the featured speakers talking about classified material; Encarni Iglesias, President of ‘Stop Digital Gender Violence‘, who will talk about the use of the Internet: The most used tool in today’s digital violence.

Women leaders in cybersecurity in Latin America (Dominican Republic, Colombia, Puerto Rico, Mexico and Brazil) will also participate in this first edition. The LATAM Woman in Cybersecurity (WOMCY) association will be represented by Nazly Borrero (Colombia), Xohara Ayuso (Puerto Rico), Aimed Pimentel, leader from Mexico and Andréa Thomé, leader from Brazil. Also, Eduvigis Ortiz (Dominican Republic), President and Founder of Women4Cyber Spain, will speak about the incorporation and development of female talent in cybersecurity.

 

Cybersecurity, a technology to help others

CSI Radar will also include “the most vulnerable” through, for example, Carlos San Juan, promoter of the campaign “I’m old, not an idiot“, who will share his vision of this technology as a tool to help the elderly. Also Aitor Fernández, Co-Founder and President of the Spanish Association of Connected Autonomous Vehicles (AEVAC), who is also blind, will give his point of view on the risks that any driver can have, who is vulnerable to autonomous driving.

Talking about cybersecurity is also talking about the State Security Forces, in charge of protecting citizens and combating cybercrime, since anyone can be vulnerable to these attacks.

In ‘CSI Radar’, the International Cybersecurity Radar (June 12-16, Seville), members of the Joint Cyberspace Command of the Defence Staff, ENISA (the European Cybersecurity Agency), the Civil Guard, the National Police and the Local Police of Seville will participate to tell us how cybersecurity works in these organizations and how they help citizens.

Exclusive demonstrations on Monday 12 and Tuesday 13 at CSI Radar

The on-site conferences will be the perfect opportunity to enjoy the main innovations that leading multinationals in the world of cybersecurity will make available to attendees at FIBES.

Companies such as Telefónica Tech, Tesla, ZTE, AWS, Proofpoint and El Observatorio will be present in the demo area of the Palacio de Congresos y Exposiciones. Tesla, the company led by Elon Musk, will allow participants to test several late-model smart cars on a closed driving circuit. For its part, ZTE will show professional attendees different cutting-edge practices carried out in the Chinese company’s laboratories and security centers. In addition, AWS will showcase a cyber-attack-preventing suitcase carrier used in the Ukraine conflict.

All CSI Radar conferences can be followed on ‘The Observatory‘, a platform launched by Medina Media Events, a company specialized in the organization of top international “boutique events” such as the 5G Forum, SUTUSummit (space and underwater tourism) and the 4K HDR Summit.
